4. What is Carrom?
Carrom is a tabletop game that is very similar to pool, except that it
is played with discs instead of balls. It is a game of precision
and strategy, extremely popular in southeast Asia, played by more
people in the world than all cue sports combined! It is
gaining popularity in Europe these days, but not that famous in the US
yet. The US Carrom Association conducts tournaments and demo events at
major billiards tournaments to popularize the sport. Our club's mission is
to bring all carrom lovers in the bay area together and to promote this
great sport on the west coast of USA. For a brief history of Carrom, checkout the wikipedia entry on carrom at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrom.
